Weleda AG was developing a new production and logistics site in Schwäbisch Gmünd to centralize multiple existing company buildings currently scattered across the Schwäbisch Gmünd area in one efficient and organized location.

The site, situated next to a spacious natural landscape with views of the Swabian Alb, presents a unique opportunity to harmoniously integrate a commercial area into its surroundings, while also being mindful of nature and the environment.

This prominent location also entails specific requirements regarding urban planning and the relationship to landscape.

The project predominantly utilizes renewable construction and raw materials with a positive ecological footprint. Moreover, rooftop areas can serve as platforms for generating renewable energy.

In cooperation with Transsolar Michelgroup developed a building concept prioritizing maximum user comfort, minimum energy consumption across construction, operation and beyond, and the use of renewable or recycled raw materials.

The aim is to create a "campus" for humans, nature and products that will assume a pioneering role in sustainable industrial buildings - a beacon in terms of sustainability, ergonomics and productivity.
