Die Stadt München zeichnete Michelgroup für die Restaurierung der demkmalgeschützten Galeria-Kaufhof-Fassade am "Stachus" aus, einem wichtigen Platz im Zentrum Münchens, der für seine Wahrzeichen und seine Geschichte bekannt ist. Das Galeria-Kaufhof-Warenhaus ist ein wichtiger Teil der "Stachus"-Historie. Das ursprüngliche Gebäude wurde 1951 vom Architekten Theo Pabst entworfen. Es war das erste Kaufhaus, das nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg in München gebaut wurde.
Die Michelgroup wurde mit der architektonischen Planung für die komplette Renovierung der Galeria-Kaufhof-Fassade beauftragt, einschließlich aller Phasen von der Planung bis zur Bauleitung. Innerhalb von nur zwei Jahren hat die Michelgroup den Entwurf und die Umsetzung der neuen Fassade erfolgreich abgeschlossen und dabei die Standards des Denkmalschutzes erfüllt. Gleichzeitig wurden die funktionalen Anforderungen des Gebäudes modernisiert.
The City of Munich recognizes Michelgroup for excellence in the Restoration and Historical Preservation of the Galeria Kaufhof Department Store façade at the “Stachus”. The "Stachus" is a square in central Munich, an area known for its landmarks and history. The Galeria Kaufhof Department Store is a significant part of Stachus’s history with the original building designed by Architect Theo Pabst in 1951. It has been the first postwar department store built in Munich.
Michelgroup had been engaged to provide the Architectural Design Services for the complete renovation of the Galeria Kaufhof’s Façade including all phases from planning through construction management. During the time span of only two years, Michelgroup completed the design and implementation of the new façade successfully meeting the standards of Historical Preservation and at the same time modernizing the building’s functional requirements.
