Michelgroup entwickelte die architektonische Planung und Gestaltung für das neue Service Center Neue Mitte Ulm, das die Stadtwerke Ulm (SWU) neu positioniert, indem es eine Einzelhandelsatmosphäre für die Kunden schafft, in der sie eine Vielzahl von Bedürfnissen stillen können. Dazu zählen Dienstleistungen rund um die Themen Energie und Stadtverkehr sowie der Verkauf von Tickets für Veranstaltungen sowie Konzerte. Darüber hinaus dient das Service Center als zentrale Anlaufstelle für alle weiteren städtischen Informationen und Dienstleistungen.
Das neue Gebäude stellt eine räumliche und städtebauliche Verbindung zwischen dem gotischen Münster und dem historischen Rathaus aus der Renaissance-Zeit her. Geschichtliche Elemente aus der Umgebung und bereits verwendete klassische Materialien wurden neu interpretiert und in das Fassadenkonzept eingebaut. Seine elegante optische Wirkung ist das Ergebnis einer sorgfältigen Detail- und Ausführungsplanung bei dem Projekt
Michelgroup provided Architectural Planning and Design for the new Service Center Neue Mitte Ulm, repositioning the SWU by creating a retail-based atmosphere for customers to meet a variety of needs including energy, city transportation, as well as buying tickets for events such as concerts. In addition, this serves as a one-stop shop for all other municipal information and services.
The new building is a spatial and visual urban connection between the gothic cathedral and the renaissance-period city hall. Historic elements from the surrounding area and previously used classic materials were re-interpreted and built into the new façade concept. Its elegant visual impact is the result of thoroughly meticulous detailing and implementation planning.
