Laying of the foundation stone for the ‘Therese 4’ residential development in Neu-Ulm

The ceremonial laying of the foundation stone marked an important milestone for the “Therese 4” residential project. A modern residential development comprising four buildings and 65 flats is being built between Neu-Ulm town centre and the Illeraue. The development combines urban living with a quality of life close to nature.

“Therese 4” focuses on timeless architecture, a high quality of living and a diverse resident mix, combined with resource-efficient construction and economic efficiency. A variety of flat sizes, predominantly accessible floor plans, and maisonette flats with their own entrance and garden area create attractive living spaces for singles, couples and families.

Spacious outdoor areas with play and leisure spaces, as well as open pergolas, encourage social interaction and neighbourly relations. This forward-looking development is complemented by an underground car park with electric vehicle charging points and solar panels on the roofs.

We are delighted with the successful progress of the project and look forward to the next steps in the realisation of “Therese 4”.

Architecture Day at the Weleda Cradle Campus – a day of inspiration and exchange

On 17 July 2025, a special architecture day took place at the Weleda Cradle Campus, bringing together numerous trade visitors, planners, developers and architecture enthusiasts. The focus was on the forward-looking concept of Cradle-to-Cradle® design, which the Weleda Campus has impressively translated into architectural reality.

The event offered a varied programme of guided tours, talks and discussion sessions. Architects, project managers and sustainability experts provided exclusive insights into the planning, construction and use of the campus, which was built as one of the first industrial buildings in Europe to adhere to the Cradle to Cradle® principle.

A particular highlight was the speech by Mr Thomas Jorberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Weleda AG, who emphasised the importance of sustainable corporate responsibility and the role of the Cradle Campus as a living example of a holistically conceived future. “The Cradle Campus is an expression of our deep conviction that ecology, economic efficiency and social responsibility are not mutually exclusive – but, at their best, reinforce one another,” said Jorberg.

Alongside professional discussions, the focus was also on experiencing the site itself – with open conversations, sustainable cuisine and a lively sense of community across the spacious campus grounds.

    Background
The Weleda Cradle Campus was developed in collaboration between MICHELGROUP and Transsolar KlimaEngineering and was completed in 2024. The building combines state-of-the-art ecological construction with functional workplace architecture and is regarded as a flagship project for sustainable building in a corporate context.
