Michelgroup provided Architectural Planning and Design for the new Service Center Neue Mitte Ulm, repositioning the SWU by creating a retail-based atmosphere for customers to meet a variety of needs including energy, city transportation, as well as buying tickets for events such as concerts. In addition, this serves as a one-stop shop for all other municipal information and services.
The new building is a spatial and visual urban connection between the gothic cathedral and the renaissance-period city hall. Historic elements from the surrounding area and previously used classic materials were re-interpreted and built into the new façade concept. Its elegant visual impact is the result of thoroughly meticulous detailing and implementation planning.
